Posted in Florida life everyday

Here are some pictures from my long weekend up on the other coast of Florida. We live on the west coast of Florida. It was a three hour drive to get there.

Crescent Beach is just south of Saint Augustine. You can take your dog. You canalso take your car and drive right on the beach just like Daytona Beach. It is $10 for the whole day.
Saint Augustine Cathedral is a great place to stop for Saturday Vigil Mass.
Florida Cracker Cafe is located on St George Street. Bring money.
Alfie is our eight-year-old Beagle. He travels with us. We rented a truck this weekend.
Here is the menu to Florida cracker Cafe.
Order what you want. But, in my humble opinion this sandwich is the best. I was going to order the shrimp and grits. Steak is good to but this is not a steakhouse. Don’t order a wrap sandwich like my over scrupulous friend did. I told her what was good and she didn’t listen. In my humble opinion she missed out on something very very tasty.
This was our bill for two people for Saturday night Dinner. We don’t order drinks out. Why? Florida has a very stringent .08 DUI law. We don’t drink and drive. Saturday we had a long way to go back to our hotel to save money.
I love this painting inside the restaurant.
Yes I took this picture and yes these are my shoes when I was in the cathedral —-get over it. It was $20 to park right next door to the cathedral. Yes, I wrote that and yes it is expensive to park in that city. Bring money to park and I warned you.

I have lived here in the Tampa Bay area for over 40 years. I am a native of New York. The purpose of this blog is to show what it is like to live here. This is Florida’s Daily life. Paradise has “moments” too. This blog attempts to reflect my Catholic Christian faith with balance and sunshine and a crack at holy humor. I have a real sense of humor. It is hot here. I sweat.
